  • Differentiate between foot problems resulting from systemic disease and those resulting from structural/functional abnormalities.
  • Provide biomechanical assessment of the foot and leg, especially in the child and athletic adult.
  • Perform a physical examination of the lower extremities.
  • Prescribe and manufacture orthoses (functional, accommodative or palliative devices worn in footwear).
  • Provide custom-made, subtalar joint neutral orthotic devices from a negative Plaster of Paris cast, after a thorough gait analysis and biomechanical assessment.
